The ÅngströmLap 3D Printing Aluminum Oxide Lapping Film is an abrasive film designed to remove small amounts of material from a surface, achieving a smooth and flat finish. As a highly effective alternative to sandpaper, this lapping film, also known as polishing film, is available in various grit sizes that determine the size and aggressiveness of the abrasive particles. Beneficial for 3D printed objects, it eliminates the layered structures of 3D printing and addresses surface scratches that may cause haze in transparent materials, ultimately creating a high gloss, mirror finish.

The standard aluminum oxide films feature rougher grits, ideal for the initial smoothing of surface peaks in preparation for cushion films. With a 5mil backing and a non-slip surface, these films are easily identifiable by the grit size indicated on the back of each 93mm x 114mm sheet, providing a reliable solution for achieving precise finishes in the 3D printing process.
